Botan: What?! Some people don't think we should be together?

Koenma: Unbelievable!                                                                

Attention all those who do not believe that Koenma and Botan are compatible, well we've got news for you! THEY ARE!!!

And if the capital letters and the three exclamation points do not convince you, we will provide further evidence to prove this point.

Don't get angry at us, though, this is just our honest opinion. Please don't be offended if you're not really a Koenma-Botan fan!

As we were saying, we shall prove to you that they are compatible, but in order to do this, we must first eliminate all of Koenma-sama's "rivals" in Ningen Kai and beyond.

Who ARE his rivals?

Rival no. 1:

Name: Minamino Shuichi a.k.a. Kurama

                   

Age: 15(as a human, at the beginning of the series)

Hair color: Red

Eye color: Green

Why we think he and Botan would not be the best match:

Misty: Oh. Kurama! *swoon*

Karina: Misty! *nudge, nudge* We're in the middle of our commentary here! Let's start with his hair.

Misty: Oh his hair, his lovely red locks...*swoon* *sigh*

Karina: Anyway, as I was saying...

Misty:(daydreaming)

Karina: Looks like I have to do this alone. Anyway, about his hair, as you all know he has red hair, and Botan, on the other hand has blue hair. Don't you think that clashes?

Misty: WHAT'S WRONG WITH KURAMA-CHAN'S HAIR?! (strangles Karina)

Karina: Unnnhh...I'm choking to death here!

Misty:Oh I'm sorry. Anyway what's wrong with his hair?

Karina: If you just take your hands off my neck first, I'll explain.

Misty:Oh, sure, I forgot.

Karina: Well, as I said before, when you weren't listening (glares at Misty) the colors of their hair clash. Let's just leave it at that.

Anyway, the second reason is their personalities.

Misty:WHAT'S WRONG WITH KURAMA-CHAN'S PERSONALITY?! (strangles Karina again)

Karina: Oh my poor neck... (rubs her neck) Ouch! You really did a good job of strangling me this time!

I'm not saying that there's something wrong with Kurama's personality, or Botan's for that matter. I'm just saying they're too different. You see, Kurama's sort of the quiet, intellectual kind of guy, while Botan's all bubbly and carefree and cheerful. Like their hair, their personalities clash. I just don't think it'll work out, in the long run.

Misty: I kinda agree with you! Besides, they're worlds apart...literally!

Karina: Yes, I guess. Kurama's from the Ma Kai, while Botan is from the Rei Kai. Talk about long distance relationships!

Misty: Oh, and don't forget the final and most important reason!

Karina: Huh?!

Misty: If Kurama ends up with Botan, what about me? Boohoohoo!!!

Karina: Misty?!

Rival no.2

Name: Hiei (kinda short, huh?)                        

Age: (actually he has lots of 'em!)           

Hair color: black with blue and white highlights (I wonder who did his hair?)

Eye color: Red

Why we think he and Botan would not make the best match:

Karina: I don't even know how they came up with THAT idea. How could they pair up Botan with Hiei?

Misty: Karina, those Hiei-Botan fans might kill us. (looks around warily) I'm sorry, Hiei-Botan fans... (bonks Karina in the head) my friend her can just be so tactless sometimes...gomengomengomengomen...

Karina: Don't worry , we already have enough enemies with that Kurama-Botan commentary we gave just awhile ago. A few more won't hurt.

Misty: Let's just get on with it.

If Kurama is the quiet, intellectual type, Hiei is the quiet...well quiet type. I don't think he can stand Botan's cheerfulness with his ever present sarcasm.

Karina: Just imagine Botan rattling away cheerfully to Hiei, who'd just nod and say "Hn." to her every remark. Not very romantic, isn't it?

Misty: He's not much of a conversationalist either.

Karina: Besides, Hiei already has Mukuro, who he gets along with well and who hs a lot of things in common with him.

Misty: Botan and Hiei are also worlds apart...literally!

Karina: Hey, isn't this deja vu?

Rival no. 3

Name: Urameshi Yuusuke    

Age: 14 (at the beginning of the series)

Hair Color: black

Eye color: (err...not sure...)

Why we think he and Botan would not make the best match:

Misty: We only have one word for all of you: KEIKO.

Karina: Yes! Yusuke already has a partner, and it's Keiko! They are already one of the canon couples in YYH. Besides, Yusuke really loves Keiko, and he will never leave her for Botan. 

WHY PAIR UP KOENMA WITH BOTAN?

Karina: Why not? Misty here will provide us with some reasons why they should be together!

Misty: Let's take a look at our list here. (gets a LOOONG strip of paper and reads it.)

Karina: Uh...Misty? I don't think they'd want to see all that.

Misty: Okay, let's start with our first reason. They have known each other for a long time, since they work together a lot. I think that's important! At least they know enough about each other to actually sustain a conversation.

Karina: I couldn't agree with you more.

Misty: They also look good together. Botan is pretty and Koenma's handsome...

Karina: Of course Koenma-sama's handsome! Those eyes...that hair...*swoon*

Misty: *sweatdrop* And they say I'm the only one who gets obsessed with anime characters...

Karina: I'm not obsessed! I just think (sighs) that Koenma-sama's a really nice guy. *swoon*

Misty: Not that Kurama or Hiei don't look good, it's just that Botan looks best with Koenma.

Karina: Of course, who wouldn't look good with Koenma-sama? *sigh*

Misty: They're very good friends, too, and they have fun together, as you can see from the series.

Also, Botan doesn't have a song with any other guy, except for Koenma! They have a song entitled Moonlight Party.

Karina: (sings in a high pitched voice) Shall we dance? Shall we dance? Join us! Join us...

Misty:That's enough, it's gonna rain if you keep on singing.

Karina: That's mean. (sticks out her tongue)

Misty: So?

Anyway, let's continue.  It's also not difficult for them to see each other since they both live in the Rei Kai! She wouldn't even have to use her oar to visit Koenma.

Karina: I agree. Besides, their personalities DO NOT clash. If Botan's bubbly and cheerful, Koenma's also fun(except when it comes to his father and his work)! He also provides some comic relief in the series. Botan can also help him get away from his work once in a while and relax.

Misty: (puzzled) Um...Karina...are you sick or something?

Karina: No, I'm perfectly healthy.

Misty: Then why are you coming up with many reasons why Koenma and Botan should be together? Aren't you JEALOUS?

Karina: Well...*sniff,sniff* they deserve each other, okay? *sniff,sniff* Anyway, I'm so happy for them *boohoohoo*
